National ACM

The National ACM (founded 1947) is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of information technology, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open interchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.

ACM Student Chapters

ACM established Student Chapters to provide an opportunity for students to play a more active role in the Association and its professional activities. Today, more than 500 colleges and universities throughout the world participate in the ACM Student Chapter Program, whose aims are to enhance learning through exchange of ideas among students, and between established professionals and students. The ACM Lectureship Program is one activity designed specifically to promote contact between students and computing professionals.

Lectureship Program

The ACM Lectureship Series is one of the premier technology outreach programs in the computing industry. Each year several dozen distinguished computing professionals serve as current ACM lecturers. These Lecturers give lectures to over one hundred ACM chapters.

Programming Contest

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (sponsored by IBM) is the largest programming contest in the world - with more than 3,000 participants. Students compete not just for fun but for the attention of recruiters who pay special attention to those who excel.
