A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer
In honor of V-Day, a national
organization to stop violence against women and girls, APO presents
twelve monologues from this collection edited by Eve Ensler (The
Vagina Monologues) and Mollie Doyle. A diverse group of Winthrop
students and faculty, including males, will read monologues ranging
from topics of abuse, rape, respect for black women, and a male
growing up in a household of women, as well as issues faced by women
and girls in other countries such as Cambodia and Darfur. A special
presentation about the Democratic Republic of Congo will be shown
before the readings.
Admission is $5.00 per person, with all proceeds to benefit the
national V-Day organization and
Safe Passage of Rock
Hill. The show starts at 8:00 pm in the Johnson Mainstage Theatre in
Johnson Hall. |
