Candidate & Membership
Requirements |
| |
To
be a Candidate of the Chapter, you must
have:
- As an Undergraduate
Student:
- Declared your major
as BS-BADM (ACCT, FINC,
or CIS) or BS-Computer
Science;
- Completed at least
54 credit hours;
- Maintained at least
a 3.0 GPA (both overall
and in your major);
- Enrolled in (or
completed) an upper
level course in your
major that is not a part
of the "business core"
(For ACCT students, this
class must be ACCT 305);
- Obtained a letter of
recommendation from a
Winthrop Professor; and
- Paid you candidate dues
(Currently $95)
- As a Graduate
Student:
- Declared your major
as MBA-ACCT or
MS-Software Development;
- Maintained at least
a 3.2 GPA as a Graduate
Student at Winthrop
(Students in their first
semester need to have an
undergraduate GPA of
3.0);
- Obtained a letter of
recommendation from a
Winthrop Professor; and
- Paid you candidate dues
(Currently $95)

To
be Initiated, you must have:
- As an Undergraduate
Student:
- Met all of the
candidate requirements,
plus
- Attained a
cumulative grade average
in upper level courses,
in their declared area
of concentration, beyond
the business core of at
least 3.0; and
- have attained at
least a cumulative
grade average of 3.0,
or
- have achieved a
rank within the top
35% of their
university class, or
- have attained at
least a 3.2 cumulative
grade average on the
most recently
completed 30 semester
hours;
- Completed an upper
level course in your
major that is not a part
of the "business core"
(For ACCT students, this
class must be ACCT 305);

Participated in 4 Professional
Activities hosted by BAP
each semester;

Participated in 3
Service Activities
hosted by BAP each
semester;
and
- Attend the
Initiation Ceremony at
the end of the semester
- As a Graduate
Student:
- Met all of the
candidate requirements,
plus
- Completed 9 hours of
course work at Winthrop
University;
- Maintained at least
a 3.4 GPA as a Graduate
Student at Winthrop;
- Participated in 4 Professional
Activities hosted by BAP
each semester;
- Participated in 3
Service Activities
hosted by BAP
each semester; and
- Attend the
Initiation Ceremony at
the end of the semester
