China Martial Arts Study Abroad Program
A Great Adventure!
For those of you that missed it (I don't know what
you were thinking!), the Spring Semester course PHED 450 Special Topics in
Physical Education: China Martial Arts Study Abroad Program was a three credit
hour course that met four
times during the Spring 2006 Semester and culminated with a trip to
Beijing China from May 14th - May 28th. The purpose was to train with Master Sui Yunjiang in Plum
Blossom Fist and Baguazhang and to tour famous sites in Beijing such as The
Great Wall, The Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, The Temple of Heaven, etc...
There were six of us representing Winthrop including five students and Shifu
Keoni Everington who served as the instructor and tour guide. The two week
odyssey was an amazing, action packed trip of a lifetime! We went to see
all the famous sites in Beijing, had excellent food, did great shopping, and
learned some awesome Meihuazhuang and Baguazhang to take back to the US!
