Monday, April 7, 2008 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. PROVERBS 10:30 Announcements: -CWC's final meeting will be April 21 -The Spring Social Will be at Sunday April 27 at 5pm (location TBA) Time With Christ: -Tanisha found out that she might be able to graduate on time. -Lenesha is grateful because God has helped her by relieving stress The discussion Monday night was centered around Insecurity. The definition of insecurity is a state of instability, or a state of being in danger. An antonym that we discussed was confidence. Key Question: What are you insecure about? A reference for Monday's discussion was a book titled Lady in Waiting. THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN PROVERBS 10:10-31 Monday, February 25, 2008 Hello CWC, Monday night's meeting was awesome. For those who were there Thanks for coming out, and for those who couldn't make it here's what you missed. Heather Francisco was the speaker. The following are part 1 of Heather's notes from the great time we all shared in fellowship, learning God's word. I will email part 2 of Heather's notes as soon as they are posted... Tonya L. Gregg Secretary Hey Ladies! Most of you came this past Monday night. (if u didn't I would love for u to read over the notes as well) In case u didn't come, what it is, is the CWC (Collegiate Women for Christ) meet every Monday night at 8:00pm in the east Thompson area, but this past Monday was a special night down in the basement of Wofford...we talked about all kinds of things that women experience. We talked about a relationship with God, True Love, True Beauty, and Purity, but we ran out of time and did not get to talk about Marriage and Sex....this discussion will be continued soon and either Tonya Gregg, Lenesha Goldsmith, or me will let cha know :) Just in case you didn't get all the notes, I am sending them to you. :) Here they are! :) The key verse, which I 4got to point out first of all Monday was Matthew 6:33, "But seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." This verse is the key to everything we discussed and will discuss....Have God your #1 priority and the center of your life and it will be amazing what He will do in your life! Then I first asked everyone the questions: 1. What is it that defines who you are? .....such as a man, school, parents, church, an organization you're in, your job? AND 2. Who/What are you serving? What is your focus in life? .........a man?, your parents/guardians?, people?, school? A Relationship with God: What it means and How to have a real with Him: and True Love: Romans 10:1-15 as compared to Matthew 7:21.....the key to a real with God is not a one time prayer or even asking him to save u everyday, its not saying "Lord Lord..." its truly meaning it with all your heart, soul and mind....not for selfish reasons....if u truly believe that you are a Christian...is there a change? 2 Cor. 5:17 "You are a new creation...the old has gone and the new has come...." Is there a change? Did ppl who used to know u see a true change in you....for example...if b4 u became a Christian u were partying it up and going clubbing every chance u got, then u realized u were serving yourself and not God, and u knew u needed a Savior....as u developed or are developing a relationship with Him, there should be a change that is def evident to u and evident to others....u shouldn't be partying it up anymore....not that it is the law, like the Pharisees see it as, but that when u truly are born again the Holy Spirit dwells within u....your desires naturally become God's desires for u....u change!, u start to see life and everything in a whole new perspective......Ask yourself this.....examine yourself, your heart, your attitude, your way of thinking, of living....is Christ the center of your life?....truly? I have to get going now....but I will continue this, there is lots more.....I will continue it ASAP! :) I love ya'll! :) Trusting Him, Heather Francisco Monday, February 18, 2008 Hello CWC Members, I hope that everyone is having a good week! Krystal and Lenesha have both been blessed this week. LESSON-"Daily Bible Study" I. The Importance of Bible Study 1. God speaks to us through the Bible. His Word gives us daily guidance. 2. The Holy Spirit within us helps us. It is a helper and a comforter. The Holy Spirit brings scriptures to our memory when we are going through hard times. The devil tempts us and knows how to make us mad-these scriptures help us to overcome temptation. 3. Bible Study helps us to grow closer to God. It enables us to see how God is working through our lives. God is love. God teaches us what love is and how to love others through the Bible. All scriptures are "God-breathed"-The Word breathes life in us. 4. Bible Study renews our minds. Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God". 5. Bible Study cleanses our hearts. How do we keep a good heart? The Word of God goes deep into our hearts and cleanses it (Hebrews 4:12). Other Scriptures-Psalms 7:9, Matthew 6:21, Proverbs 4:20-23. REMEMBER TO PUT GOD FIRST IN ALL THAT YOU DO AND ALL OTHER THINGS WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU!! Have a blessed weekend!
