Liberia extends sincere congratulations to President Elect Ellen
Johnson-Sirleaf, Vice-President Elect Joseph Boakai and to all newly
elected government officials of Liberia. The people of Liberia have entrusted you with the enormous challenge
of leading your nation through the formidable tasks of
reconstruction and development. These tasks include rebuilding hope
and trust as well as the country’s infrastructure and its systems of
healthcare, education and justice.
Friends of Liberia reaffirms its mission statement.
Friends of Liberia is a non-governmental, non-profit membership
organization that seeks to positively affect Liberia and Liberians
through education, social and humanitarian programs and through
advocacy efforts.
Your leadership during the coming months will determine
Liberia’s future and the support extended by the international
community. It was a long and hard struggle to bring peace to your
land and we urge you to continue with your efforts to rebuild and
heal Liberia. FOL pledges to work with the government on
initiatives
which are within the scope of our mission.
We look forward to working with each of you towards Progress,
Prosperity and Peace for Liberia and all its People.
