I first met Mommy on a cold day in November 1996.  I was outside her apartment looking for food and when Mommy came out I could tell right  away that she was a cat person - she had that scent about her.
I know how to manipulate people so I meowed ever so softly and proceeded to nibble on a bush.  Mommy called inside the door - "There's a cat out here that's hungry!"
"How do you know it's hungry?" A male person called back.
"Because it's eating a bush!"  Mommy called back.
I heard a person coming down the stairs.  A man came out of the house.  "It's a pretty cat."  he said as I continued to sniff and nibble the unappetizing bush.
"Can I give it some food?"  Mommy asked.
"Ask Smokie."  The man said.  "It's his food."
The woman went inside apparently to ask this 'Smokie' if I could have some of his food.
The man sat down and proceeded to pet me.  "Mew."  I said opening my green eyes up wide.  Then he ran his hand under my tummy.  "Hey, watch it,"  I thought.
When the woman came back she had a bowl of cat food with her.
"She's had kittens recently."  The man said to the woman.
"Really?!" The woman said as she put the bowl down.
After that, they fed me almost every day.  Daddoo said that he didn't want me to be hungry if I was feeding kittens.

The next time I got pregnant, I spent a lot of time at Mommy and Daddoo's apartment on Milton Avenue because the person I owned then had a mean dog who ate all my food.  About a week before I had my kittens, Mommy and Daddoo locked me in their apartment and wouldn't let me out.  I had my second litter of kittens in their closet on Easter Sunday 1997.  They took care of me and my kittens and even let me help interview the adoptive parents of my kittens.

In late 1997, the next time I got pregnant though, Daddoo wasn't quite as understanding.  "She's not our cat."  Daddoo said to Mommy.  "She's the responsibility of her owner."  They stopped feeding me and letting me in; so I had to go back down the street to my real person with the mean dog.

One day I was sitting pitifully in a yard across the street from Mommy and Daddoo's house when the old woman who lived there (she always called me Glory) put a note around my neck on a piece of ribbon which read, "Please feed me, for I am with child."

Mommy was very upset when she saw the note which I proudly displayed when they got home from work.  Daddoo brought me down a can of food.

That night it rained horribly and my labor pains began.  To stay dry, I curled up under the eaves of the vacant house next door and delivered 6 kittens.

My first litter of kittens were grown up and still living on Milton Avenue at that time.  They were very concerned about me.  I told them to get Mommy and Daddoo as soon as they came out of their apartment.

Early the next morning, Tangerine Man and Poe were waiting on their doorstep.  Tangerine Man ran to let me know they came outside while Poe kept them busy.  I left my kittens and came around the corner of the house.  Then Daddoo followed me to my babies.  Mommy brought a basket and Daddoo carried my kittens into the house as I followed close behind.

Soon after this, Daddoo had a talk with my real person and she came and picked me and my kittens up.  A few weeks later she had me fixed.

Then, in May 1998 I was helping my person have a yard sale and Mommy and Daddoo stopped by.  I ran over to Mommy and she picked me up and hugged me.  My person said to Mommy, "I am moving and because Clay is so attached to you would you like to have her?"  Mommy said yes and then took me over to Daddoo to let him know they had just adopted me.

I have officially lived with Mommy and Daddoo for 6 years now.  They are the best people a cat could have.  They give us dry food twice a day, canned food every once in a while, we have a big yard to play in, they brush us, they love us, and when they have yard sales I get to help and wear a tag which reads:  Priceless.
