Judy Lindstrom Meister is currently adjunct faculty for strings at Winthrop University, Wingate University and Central Piedmont Community College. She plays occasionally with the Charlotte Symphony, the North Carolina Symphony, and various other orchestras in the area. Prior to moving to the Charlotte area, Ms. Meister played as a full- time violinist in the Knoxville and then Virginia Symphonies. She has served as concertmaster of the South Bend and Hillsdale Symphonies and played in the Virginia Symphony’s Carnegie Hall debut. After receiving an MM in Violin Performance from the University of Notre Dame, Ms. Meister continued on their faculty and later on the faculty of The College of William and Mary. She has participated in recitals with Nick McGegan while at Washington University, at the Johannesen International School for the Arts on Vancouver Island and has been a featured soloist with the South Bend Symphony.  Ms. Meister directed the String Orchestra of the Bay Youth Orchestra in Norfolk,VA, and was a member of the Hardwick Chamber Ensemble, a Young Audiences group. Previous to her current teaching positions, she was a member of the Gardner-Webb String Trio and was also on the faculty there. She presently resides in Monroe, NC with her husband and daughter, who made her Carnegie Hall debut with the Charlotte Children’s Choir in April, 2005.
