Hello this
is Rich Posipanko, Director of
the
KICKS AGAINST CANCER GAME.
In our inaugural event in 2009 we were able to raise almost $20,000
for the American Cancer Society. In 2010 we raised just over $22,000.
Our goal in 2011 is to again raise $20,000 in a difficult economy. I am once again asking
for your help and your donation. As you
may know, this terrible disease has affected me personally in July
2008, when my wife Gayle was diagnosed with
breast cancer. I am sure each of you have had
to deal with cancer on some level in your life, either knowing a family
member, relative, or a friend. Now that I am involved with this on a
very personal level, I am trying to help in some small way to
raise money for this cause and help with a cure. This is our
third
KICKS AGAINST CANCER GAME and it
has now become a yearly event that many look forward to.
HERE IS HOW WE ARE DOING IT
Our men's and women's soccer teams, along with the volleyball team at Winthrop will combine in a joint effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society in our annual KICKS AGAINST CANCER GAME. The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity has also assisted each year with this event by running game day operations and fund raising. We will join our teams in charity events to be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 7:00 PM @ the Winthrop University Soccer Complex. I am asking for your help with this event and hope you will sponsor one of our student-athletes through a donation. I am asking you to sponsor a student-athlete for a certain time limit and amount, or please feel free to write a check for whatever amount you feel financially comfortable with.
Example: $1 x 90 minutes = $90 for soccer; $15 x 5 sets = $75 for volleyball. Your donation/pledge is tax deductible and 100% will go directly to the American Cancer Society. You will receive confirmation and a receipt for your donation through email and/or by the post. If you are unable to make a donation at this time, perhaps you can in the future.
You may also want to make your donation in honor or memory of someone. If so, please make note of this on the donation form(s) below. We have three ways to make your donation (see below).
We would also like to personally invite you to attend the game. It is always a fun and rewarding night for everyone involved.
