Hello this is Rich Posipanko, Head Soccer Coach at Winthrop University and Director of the KICKS AGAINST CANCER GAME. In our inaugural game last year we were able to raise almost $20,000 for the American Cancer Society. I am once again asking for your help and your donation for the 2010 game. We have a goal of raising $20,000 to help in the fight against cancer for the American Cancer Society. As you may know, this terrible disease has affected me personally in July 2008, when my wife Gayle was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am sure each of you have had to deal with cancer on some level in your life, either knowing a family member, relative, or a friend. Now that I am involved with this on a very personal level, I am trying to help in some small way to help raise money for this cause and help with a cure. This is our second KICKS AGAINST CANCER GAME and it has now become a yearly event. Each year we will continue to expand and get more campus and community organizations involved.
HERE IS HOW WE ARE DOING IT
Our men's and women's soccer teams, our men's and women's cross country teams and volleyball team at Winthrop University will combine in a joint effort along with the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, to raise money for the American Cancer Society in our annual KICKS AGAINST CANCER GAME. We will join our teams in a charity soccer game to be played on TBA @ 7:00 PM. I am asking for your help with this event and hope you will sponsor one of our student-athletes through a donation. We will play a full 90 minute game. I am asking you to sponsor a player for each of the 90 minutes or please feel free to write a check for whatever amount you feel financially comfortable with. You may also want to make your donation in honor or memory of someone. If so, please make note of this on the donation form below.
Example: $1.00 x 90 minutes = $90 or please feel free to write a check for any amount you feel financially comfortable doing. Your donation/pledge is tax deductible and 100% will go directly to the American Cancer Society. You will receive confirmation and a receipt for your donation through email or by the post.
