Officers

The Resident Students' Association is governed by a Vice President Board. The following individuals are responsible for the operation of the organization.

President:
Sara Sims

simss2@winthrop.edu

My name is Sara Sims and I am a Junior Psychology major. I joined RSA three years ago to have a positive impact on the Winthrop community and to be more involved on campus. It is so important to be involved on campus and involvement in RSA is a great way to meet new people and learn new things. This year we would like for more residents to be involved in RSA, to help students have a more enjoyable Winthrop experience and to continue to learn and grow with RSA as well as the Winthrop community. If you live on campus you are a member and you do have a voice through your RSA. We look forward to seeing you at the RSA meetings and the exciting programs we have planned for this year.

Vice President for Communication:
Courtney Samuel
Samuelc2@winthrop.edu

Hello, my name is Courtney Samuel and I am a Junior Biology Major. Although I have only been a part of RSA during my sophomore year, I am very proud to be this year's Vice President for Communications. For me, RSA is a great way to become involved on campus, while networking to make residential life here at Winthrop more comfortable and easier to handle. For this 2009-2010 school year, I assure that RSA will be extremely beneficial in providing programs, service projects, and many more activities that will be enjoyable for all! Please remember that if you're an on-campus resident, you are automatically an RSA member, because without you, there is no us. Speak up and speak out and voice your opinions and ideas as an RSA member. Please come out and support. We hope to see you all this year!

Vice President for Programming:
Brenda Young
youngb2@winthrop.edu
Hello, My name is Brenda Young and I'm a Junior, majoring in Physical Education/ Athletic Training here at Winthrop. I joined RSA so that I could advance the student life here on campus. I saw that many of the events weren't grasping the attention of my classmates and myself, so I wanted to change that. I hope to bring great ideas to RSA and all students stay here on campus as enjoyable as possible.
Vice President for Finance:
Lauren Whitner
Whitnerl2@winthrop.e
Hello everyone, I am Laurent Whitner, a junior Integrated Marketing Communication major. I joined RSA as a way to serve my campus community. After attending some of RSA's programs during my first two years, I became passionate about the work they were doing, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of this organization that not only socially involves the people that live on campus but also educates through programs on issues that are affecting all students either directly or indirectly.
Vice President for Order and Tradition:
April Swygert
Swygerta2@winthrop.edu

I am very excited to be announced as the new Order and Tradition officer. I am a rising junior seeking a bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Besides the opportunity of becoming apart of an organization, joining RSA is a good way to meet new people and to while making your stay on campus enjoyable. I believe that this year RSA can enhance their performance on campus making it a wonderful experience for not only RSA members, but Winthrop's residents.
