Join Zeta if...
...you are willing to dedicate your life, (not just your undergraduate years) to the Zeta cause.
...you can manage your time well enough to work for Zeta and maintain good
standing in your academics. ...you are a God-fearing woman who knows that all is possible through Christ. ...you believe in all of your heart that you are dedicated to our principles and philosophies. ...you are concerned with the idea of quality instead of quantity. ...you have a desire to help the community and uplift the image of the African-American woman. ...you consider yourself to be a lady of good stature. ...you want to join a real sisterhood. Those who join Zeta are not only women of Zeta Phi Beta, but sorors to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, our brothers. ...you don't just want to "wear" letters, but do something with them. Since its inception, Zeta has been community service oriented.
You Shouldn't Join Zeta If......you are only concerned with images and stereotypes. Zetas have no stereotypes- we are individuals. What you are is what you bring to the organization. What you bring to the organization is what the organization becomes.
...you only want to advance socially by aligning yourself with a Greek letter
organization, don't think that three letters across your chest will make you any
more or less attractive or popular. ...you only want to say, "I joined a Greek letter organization": Make your own. There have been plenty of independent so-called "Greek" letter organizations to pop up because someone couldn’t make it or someone has animosity toward Zeta or someone else's org. Others want to have the "privileges" and image that come with saying that you're a "Greek", but don't want to join a NPHC organization. Anyone can take three letters and make an organization. But do you know the significance of the BGLO (Black Greek Letter Organization) movement in the US? Do you know of it's origin? It's traditions?
...you just want to be in a sorority so that you can wear paraphernalia ...you're fascinated by our stepping abilities and quite frankly, you just want to step
...you think that it will be easy for you to become a Zeta because we're "small"
and we're "desperately" looking to take as many members as possible. (DON'T
BELIEVE THE HYPE!)
...you lack the ambition to work toward the principles that we were founded on.
If you find that you fit any one of these reasons, PLEASE do us a favor. SAVE YOUR TIME, AS WELL AS OURS, AND DON'T EVEN BOTHER!
