The purpose of college is to improve oneself
through a proper and meaningful education. Nothing else will improve
your personal and career opportunities as much as a strong
scholastic record. Joining a fraternity, however, gives an
individual many opportunities to improve upon his GPA, especially
when considering that, statistically, students in Greek
organizations score higher on average than non-Greek students.
Fraternity men also have higher graduation rates,
report a much more fulfilling educational experience, and
better collegiate experience overall. Indeed, in the fall of 2008,
while non-Greeks on Winthrop's campus achieved an average GPA of
2.67, the Brothers of TKE's Rho-Alpha chapter maintained an average
GPA of 2.96 - one of the highest on campus.

College is a tremendous life change, and being
part of a fraternity offers a vast source of knowledge and support
to members. Tau-Kappa-Epsilon provides its members with every
resource they will need to achieve their goals both in college and
in their social experience. We at Rho-Alpha provide a scholarship
committee, study hours, tutoring programs, study partners, and the
pledge of every Brother to work with each other toward academic
success. Nationally, these TKE-wide services have resulted in TKE
CEO's, entrepreneurs, nationally recognized musicians, governors,
and even a President of the United States of America, as well as
many other important and prestigious positions.
