WINR Radio is a
Winthrop University's student-run radio station that broadcasts on
the campus cable system and online from Department of Mass
Communication studios in Johnson Hall. Volunteers apply for air shifts each semester.
The station is managed by a
student General Manager, Program Director and Music Director, who receive
advice from a faculty station supervisor and a faculty program
supervisor.
Experience in a place like WINR is especially important
for students who want to enter professional radio because today’s
automated radio stations no longer have positions where students can
receive on-air training. |
