A Beginning That Never EndsOn January 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University, 22 Devoted African-American women founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated! Delta is the largest black women's organization in the world. With membership that exceeds 200,000 college educated women, Delta currently has over 870 chapters located in the United States, Japan, Germany, Bermuda, Haiti, Liberia, the Bahamas, the Republic of Korea and the Virgin Islands. The major programs of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated are based upon the organization's Five-Point Program Thrust:Economic Development Educational Development International Awareness and Involvement Physical and Mental Health Political Awareness and Involvement
