I haven't actually been working on Mousigator since the last news item, that's because I didn't have enough hard drive space to hold the C compilers:( Well, the new hard drive that I've been waiting on has finally come! It's a 2 GB, as compared to my previous 350 MB. (Hey, I know what you're saying, but it came with the computer when I got it way back on Christmas 1994!) BTW, I got the money for the hard drive from Mousigator's registrations! It pays to pay for shareware you know:)
Since I just got the hard drive I'm in the process of migrating all of my stuff to it. Since there are only enough internal SCSI connections on my computer for one hard drive the process is somewhat drawn out. But -- you knew there had to be one -- I have a computer at work that I can move my stuff to so it's not that much of a problem. One good thing about the new drive is that I have enough room to put Mac OS 8 on it! I had been using 7.5.5 before.
As a side note, I'm not going to use all of the 2 GB for the Mac OS. I've partitioned the drive into two partitions of 1 GB each, one for the Mac and the other will be for Linux. Never heard of Linux before? Well, it's a Unix-type operating system that runs on most mainstream processors and is totally free. Never heard of Unix before? Well, it's an extremely powerful OS, yet cryptic, that's been around for ages that doesn't run on most mainstream processors and costs a king's ransom. Mac OS X is based on Unix somewhat so you'll hear more and more about Unix as Mac OS X approaches. (If you're interested in Linux in general, go here. If you want to try Linux on your Mac then try Apple's version for NuBus Macs, like mine, or a third-party version for PCI Macs.)
